What is 'C' ?
'C' is a general purpose structural programing language which is mostly used for developing system level applications.The applications which directly interact with hardware like drivers, kernel etc. Most part of the Windows operating system's kernel is written in ‘C’ language.
History of 'C'
'C' language was developed by Dennis Ritchie at bell laboratories of AT&T (American Telephone & Telegraph) in 1972. 'C' language was developed to overcome the problems of previous languages such as B, BCPL, etc.
In the beginning, ‘C’ language was developed to be used in UNIX operating system. It inherits many features of previous languages such as B and BCPL.
